Here are some of the photographs I took for the RCM gallery, they were responsible for organising the triennial and showed work by some of Chinas most important contemporary artists.

China Calling

I recently embarked on 4 week work placement for the third year of my Photography Ba Hons course at Camberwell. I chose to go to China to work for an up and coming gallery in the city of Nanjing. During my time there I learnt much about Asian art, and some of China's most contemporary artists.
I photographed the Nanjing Triennial during my placement, and Photographed works for K.U.T.SCH. an Austrian design trio who were exhibiting at the RCM Gallery. During my stay I learnt much about Chinese politics, culture, philosophy and art.

HANG THE WORD

Photobucket

The first proposal that was sent to me was a from a friend, her suggestion was simply 'hang the word'. I thought about the phrase and its different connotations, and the implications of defiance, I decided to use paint and household materials.
